Account Deletion
This page explains how Smart Scanner users can request deletion of their account and associated personal data.
Account deletion is available from inside the Smart Scanner app and by email if you no longer have access to the app.
1. Delete Your Account from the App
- Open the Smart Scanner app.
- Sign in with the Google account used for Smart Scanner.
- Tap the profile icon.
- Tap “Manage Account”.
- Tap “Request Account Deletion”.
- Follow the confirmation steps shown in the app.
2. Request Account Deletion by Email
If you no longer have access to the app, you may request account deletion by contacting us at: benpilias@gmail.com
Please include the Gmail address used with Smart Scanner so that we can identify the account concerned by your request.
3. Data Deleted with Your Account
When your account deletion request is processed, Smart Scanner will delete or anonymize data associated with your account, where applicable, including:
- Smart Scanner profile information, such as name, email address, user ID, and profile photo stored by the app;
- Generated images and related files stored in Firebase Storage;
- Request history, generation history, search history, prompts, captions, and other user-generated content;
- Uploaded photos, images, documents, videos, or audio files processed by supported features;
- App activity linked to your account, such as interactions, feature usage, and saved generations;
- Notification data, including FCM tokens;
- Promotion, recommendation, XP, or reward-related app data linked to your account.
4. Data That May Be Retained
Some data may be retained for a limited period where necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, tax, accounting, payment, subscription, dispute, or compliance purposes.
This may include purchase history, subscription records, transaction references, abuse-prevention records, crash logs, security logs, or other records that Smart Scanner is legally or reasonably required to keep.
5. Processing Time
We aim to process deletion requests within a reasonable period after verifying the account concerned. Some technical, financial, backup, security, or compliance data may take longer to remove and may be retained for up to 90 days or longer if required by applicable law.
6. Partial Data Deletion
You may also delete certain data without deleting your entire account, such as generated content, history, or saved items, when these options are available in the Smart Scanner app.
